Gergely joined Horwath HTL Hungary in 2006 and has experience primarily in hotel and tourism markets of the CEE region, in addition to the CIS countries. Since his arrival, he has participated in over 150 hotel, resort, spa and other tourism-related projects, conducted market and financial feasibility studies, development concept planning, single hotel and portfolio valuations, acquisition due diligence, financial and operations reviews and also operator selections across Hungary, the CEE region and CIS countries.
Following graduation, Gergely started his career in 1998 as Market Manager at one of the leading tour operator companies in Hungary, followed by the establishment of a chain of travel agencies as Managing Director focusing primarily on Internet-based sales.
Gergely joined Hunguest Hotels Plc. in 2001 as a Sales Manager at the Central Sales Department of the hotel-chain representing the member hotels on his particular markets. In 2002, he became Sales Director of the first newly built four-star hotel of the company, namely Hunguest Hotel Aqua-Sol.
Between 2004 and 2005, he was appointed Sales & Marketing Manager of the newly built Danubius Spa & Conference Hotel Visegrád. In 2005 and 2006, he worked for Gerand Hotels as Sales Manager with responsibility for enhancing of market share and positioning of the company’s leading business and city hotel in Budapest.
Gergely graduated as economist from the faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management at Kodolányi János College, Hungary in 1998.
